### Task Snapshots & Restore
Your tasks are now automatically backed up in the background. A subtle "Backup: X ago" indicator appears below your outliner, linking to a visual diff view where you can compare your current tasks against any previous snapshot.
If something goes wrong -- an accidental bulk delete, an unintended edit, or just curiosity about what changed -- you can review a side-by-side diff and restore from any snapshot with one click.
Snapshots are retained on a smart schedule: every snapshot from the last hour, one per hour for the past day, and one per day for the past month. You can also create manual snapshots (up to 10) for key moments you want to preserve.
### Natural Language Dates
Setting start dates and due dates just got easier. You can now type dates in plain language right in your task text:
- **"start Friday 3pm"** or **"start on Tuesday"**
- **"due next Thursday"** or **"due tomorrow 10:30am"**
- **"start today at 2pm"**
Day names work with full names and common abbreviations (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun). A plain day name resolves to the nearest upcoming occurrence, while "next" always means next calendar week. The "on" and "at" prepositions are optional -- type what feels natural.
### Voice Conversation Improvements
Voice conversations are now easier to start and stop:
- **Keyboard-driven**: The "Start Conversation" button auto-focuses when the page loads, so you can press Space or Enter to begin immediately. After connecting, focus returns to the button so pressing Space again ends the session -- no mouse needed.
- **Tap the orb**: On mobile, tapping the voice orb now starts a conversation directly, with a clear visual cursor change and accessibility label.
- **Cleaner AI voice**: Fixed an issue where the voice agent would sometimes speak its internal reasoning process and thinking tags aloud. Your AI coach now speaks only clean, natural responses while keeping its thought process visual-only.
### Outliner Stability & Polish
Eight fixes that make the outliner more reliable during everyday editing:
- **Multi-select move fixed**: Selecting subtasks like "child 2" and "child 3" and moving them no longer accidentally moves the parent task instead.
- **Bulk delete warning accuracy**: Selecting text within a parent task no longer triggers a false "delete 13 tasks?" warning. The dialog now only appears when tasks would actually be destroyed.
- **Cursor stays put**: Moving a task up into an expanded subtask list no longer jumps the cursor to the wrong task.
- **Deep nesting works**: Moving tasks at 3+ levels of nesting no longer splits task titles or misplaces the cursor.
- **Ghost popups gone**: Fixed phantom "No results" suggestion popups that appeared without user interaction, caused by "/" and "@" characters in existing task titles.
- **Split & join reliability**: Splitting and joining tasks with children now correctly preserves server identity, reparents children, and syncs without data loss.
- **Sync stability**: Fixed crashes when creating new moved tasks and when parent tasks were synced in a previous cycle.
- **Bulk delete confirmation**: Added a safety dialog when deleting multiple tasks with Backspace or Delete, so you always know what you're about to remove.
### Other Improvements
- **Simpler Quick Add**: The quick add window has been streamlined -- slash commands are augmented by direct UI buttons and Cmd+Enter for starting a timer. Less to remember, same power.
- **Cleaner task text format**: Task exports now use a readable footnote-style format for notes and include followup chain references, making copy-paste and text backups much cleaner.
## How This Helps You Level Up
These changes are about trust and flow. Automatic snapshots mean you can reorganize boldly, knowing you can always look back. Natural dates remove the friction of date pickers when you're in a typing flow. Voice improvements let you start a coaching conversation with a single keypress. And the outliner fixes remove the small surprises that interrupt your focus.
Together, they support what matters most: spending your attention on your goals, not on managing your tools.
