In building a system of tools to try to help guide people to and to keep them in flow, the small things can really matter. We've never had a big team but the hope is always that (1) the heart of the system is in the right place (helping you move toward flow and flourishing) and (2) that it flows more smoothly as you use it.
Today's update has a number of these "quality of life" improvements. No need to download any update, as these will be available immediately from the server.
## Declare your intention, then focus
You will notice in your focus page, that I changed the order of the inputs. It was always intended to first ask what you intend to do, and then to decide how much time you want to spend on it. Now the system properly reflects that.

## Better subtasking
You will now notice a subtle + in your tasks. This will allow you to quickly add subtasks to a current task. You are also able to do this from within an active timer (this is really really helpful in creating flow when you are working on bigger tasks), now you should be able to do it from anywhere you can see tasks.
A task that has subtasks will show a right pointing chevron, like this ![[Flow Subtasks.png|30]]
If you start a timer for a task that has subtasks, you will see these automatically in the active timer view.
Any task that is a subtask of another will show the title of that task above it, like this:
![[Flow Subtask.png|200]]
If you click on the parent text it will, show you the parent task and all of the subtasks of the parent.
It's still not super-smooth UI, but should work.
## Unlimited duration timers (use wisely)
I used to limit timers started from a task to 45 minutes, so for example if you had a task estimated to take 2 hours, when you clicked the "Start" button, it would start a 45 minute timer. This was based on data (see Dan Pink's book on When) that humans seem to be able to maintain high cognitive performance for at most 45-55 minutes. We can maintain this if we then take a break (usually 5 minutes if working for 30 minutes, then 10-15 minutes if have worked for 45-55 minutes). I heard from a number of you that this seemed instead like an error, so I've removed that limitation. If you are working for long blocks (great for flow), then do feel free to take a performance break when you feel a performance dip!
Just a reminder, you can quickly edit any active timer by clicking on the main active timer (title or minutes remaining).

## This weeks and last weeks goals (also use wisely)
When I added in the new Goals Framework, I also updated the way that your weekly success stories are stored - now saving them week by week. The weekly reflection and planning ritual (the WRAP) allows you to create a new success story for the week ahead. If you don't do the WRAP however then your first begin well ritual will have a blank weekly success story and thought their success story had been removed (rather than just being a new week for a new success story). I've added in the ability to copy forward your last weekly success story if it is helpful to get your new success story. Do use this wisely, and do continue to modify and update it - it's far more likely to stay relevant to you!
