[Get the update](https://my.maketimeflow.com/desktop) - 3.9.1 Okay, I have a confession to make. While I've been developing the app, I've continued to use my super-duper hardware Flow Time Box. This has meant that I had easy access to quickly starting timers and easy visibility of when the timers were up. I'm starting to accept requests again for the Flow Time Box as I still think they have a real place for high achievers. But it also meant that I kept intentional timer visibility *very minimal* in the app. This meant that a number of dedicated users were doing some heroic things to make the intentional time more visible. I've worked to correct this now, and I've enabled little floating "always on top" windows for each of the timers you create. These appear by default in the top right. ![[Flow Floating Windows.png|400]] They are meant to reflect the zen approach to time I hope you are all cultivating. If you hover over the windows however, you will see the time remaining details, as well as timer controls. ![[Flow Timer Hover.png|400]] You will also notice that the little windows have different states of "time awareness" - when you have more than 25 minutes, I want you to focus only on the task - your deep work, and not time, so it will not even show the progress bar - when you have less than 25 minutes it will show the progress bar - when you have less than 10 minutes it will also show you the minute countdown - when you have less than a minute it will show the seconds - when it has expired, it will slowly flash! ## A little more love for Windows and Linux users Another confession - for now, I'm using primarily an Apple for development (still dream of Linux freedom at some point). This has meant that there have been some additional challenges for my awesome, brave Windows and Linux users. I've made a number of improvements for you - traditional windows controls are back (hopefully making it easier to size, resize and move the app for you) - I've got a better system for testing the application (for Windows for now, still working on Linux (most are Intel based, which is harder to test from an ARM based system)) ## A little love for Apple users The packaging system I uses makes a nice neat .app file which downloads to your Downloads folder (usually). It can run from here, but you miss out on a lot of goodness (primarily the automatic updating) which only happens when it is properly in the Applications folder. The system will now let you know if this is the case, and will offer to move itself to the Applications folder for you ## Start on login if you want The system will now ask if you want to have the application start when you login (this is how I use it). I know it works on Windows and Apple, but would love to hear from some Linux users if it works for you. ## Playing nice with the main window If you close the main window, this will quit the application, and (unless you have a fancy Flow Time Box hardware timer) you want receive the intentional timer notifications. I've updated the application to let users know this when they try to close the main window. I'll give them the option to hide it, or close and quite ## Windows positioning The main window now remembers it's size and position. The rituals will still try to take over your screen to encourage your to relax and focus on the ritual, but the main window should remember it's size and position.
