[[Update 20250301 Quick Wins and Tasking improvements]] - prepare for a shallow work speed boost with the new quick quick wins button which you can quickly use to quicken your quick work. Also easier access to your tasks from focus mode, lovely markers, easier to press quick buttons, improved subtasking, faster display and faster tasks as text importing (Narath uses this a lot at the end of the month). [[Update 20250321 Deeper workload management with Basecamp integration]] - I've been trying to be very careful in designing MakeTimeFlow to be a useful tool with your personal suite of high performance tools. Most of us who have already been leaning into high performance for some time will have some tools that work really well for us. This is great - keep using them. But almost all of us will have some that don't work (but we usually have to use them) or work well at something but are effortful for us to use. We've taken the first step to changing this - leveling up MakeTimeFlow from just a personal task trust system to a powerful workload assistant, able to pull in tasks, and help you think about and plan all that you need to do (and won't do) from various sources, giving you a fluid, unified view - starting with our deep tasking integration with [Basecamp](https://basecamp.com). [[Update 20250401 Better at being intentional with your time]] - I have a confession: while developing the app, I've been relying on my hardware Flow Time Box, which meant I kept timer visibility too minimal in the software. I've fixed this by adding floating 'always on top' timer windows that adapt intelligently - showing just what you need based on remaining time (progress bars appear under 25 minutes, minute countdowns under 10, seconds in the final minute). I've also shown some love to Windows and Linux users in adding back the traditional window controls, added auto-relocation to Applications for Mac users, implemented 'start on login' functionality, improved window closing behavior with hide/quit options, and made the main window remember its position. The goal remains the same - helping you cultivate a zen approach to time while doing your best work! - [download the update](https://my.maketimeflow.com/desktop) - 3.9.1, quickly followed by 3.9.2 [[Update 20250402 All the small things]] - In building a system of tools to try to help guide people to and to keep them in flow, the small things can really matter. We've never had a big team but the hope is always that (1) the heart of the system is in the right place (helping you move toward flow and flourishing) and (2) that it flows more smoothly as you use it. Today's update has a number of these "quality of life" improvements. No need to download any update, as these will be available immediately from the server. This one includes: better focus mode, better subtasking, unlimited duration timers (use wisely), and the ability to forward your last weekly success story (if you need to, also use wisely). [[Update 20250415 Quick Update and Upcoming]] - manage complexity in your tasks using our new export and import as mind map, learn about the upcoming focus mode improvements, and get the new 3.9.2 update to improve the positioning of the floating windows. [[Update 20250428 Better Focus Mode]] - the better focus mode I discussed last time is now available! It allows you to more easily see what you will likely be able to achieve today or now, see quickly what the next scheduled task is, and see breaks in your day. I also share with you how I use this as part of my task trust system. *Update 20250429 Floating Timer Window Improvements* - the issue with the floating timer windows getting out of sync with the actual time has been fixed. They also now remember their positions. Windows sizing on smaller displays should be improved (especially when the initial window is too big for the display). Show in the tray menu will reset the sizing of your app when you press it with the app visible. - [download the update](https://my.maketimeflow.com/desktop) - 3.9.3 [[Update 20250501 New Home Dashboard]] - We've launched a new Home Dashboard that makes it easier to understand and navigate MakeTimeFlow's productivity system. The dashboard offers both a Quick Start option to immediately plan your day with AI assistance, and a Full Start path to get the most out of all features. The AI coach is now more integrated throughout the system to help guide you every step of the way. [[Update 20250502 Enhanced Focus Mode with Related Tasks]] - Focus mode now intelligently shows you related tasks (by project, area, or context tags) while maintaining the distraction-free environment. These related tasks are hidden by default and can be revealed with a single click when you need them. You can even sort and prioritize these related tasks on the fly. We've also made several usability improvements: tasks are now clickable (and underlined for clarity), a refresh button keeps your view current, and time calculations are more accurate (we fixed a caching issue). If your timer has a related task, you'll now always see it without needing to click "Show Details". These improvements are designed to help you balance deep work with the practical needs of complex, interconnected projects. [[Update 20250503 Mind Map Improvements]] - We've enhanced the mind map integration to make weekly planning easier. Now you can simply bold tasks in your mind map to place them in the @next bucket when importing, and tasks in your @next bucket are automatically bolded when exporting. We also now automatically remove `@next` and `@later` tags from the exported mind map, making it even easier to edit - just bold or unbold tasks without worrying about tags! This streamlines weekly planning - just clear your buckets, export to a mind map, bold the tasks for next week, and import back. [[Update 20250807 Thinking out loud]] - conversational voice interaction is now available within the platform. The desktop app has been updated to 3.11 and better supports voice mode and operating system detection.
